Diary - 3 weeks to go!
Photos
Date: 19-04-03
Popped over to the photographer's studio this morning for our complimentary engagement
photo. It didn't take too long as she just rattles off loads of digital pics of us in
various poses. I must say, she's quite nimble for a woman who's 8 months pregnant!
The pictures should be up on her website tonight or tomorrow! All we have to do is
choose any one as a freebie and any others we pay for at the normal rate.
We popped into town in the afternoon to get a bit of shopping done. Katherine managed
to buy a few things, but I'm not allowed to see them until they day. Hmmmm....
The day was rounded off with a couple of glasses of wine whilst starting to sort the
seating plan. We thought we'd just choose which people are on each table tonight, and
sort the ordering out another night. We'd get to the point where we thought we'd be
doing quite well and then realise that we've got too many people on one table and too
few on others! Grrr! A couple of times we just had to collect up three tables worth of
people and have another go. A couple of hours later, though, and we were happy with
the result.

Angel wings
Date: 18-04-03
Not much in the way of wedding stuff sorted today - except phoning up the friend who
didn't get his invite whilst he was in Ghana to see what his menu choices were.
Instead, we thought we'd have a day off it and get some house stuff sorted and go for
a bike ride. On the way back from the ride, though, we popped into the pub in the
neighbouring village for a swift pint and saw that there was a hen party getting
underway. Katherine was quite pleased that her hens didn't dress her up in the way
that these had - pink angel wings, "Bride to be" sash draped over her and a veil
with L plates on.

What invite?
Date: 17-04-03
Spoke to our friend who got back from 18 months in Ghana today to see if he was coming
to the wedding - we sent him an invite at the end of February, and haven't heard anything
since.
"Er...what invite?" was the reply. Ah. That's why he hadn't replied then! He said he wants
to come along, though, which is good. We need to phone him tomorrow before he heads off to
France for a week to get his menu choices.
That's all of the RSVPs sorted then! WooHoo!

Looking good
Date: 16-04-03
Katherine emailed the Orchard the other day to see if we could arrange to meet up with them
at some point about the finer details. A date's been set for a week on Saturday, and they
attached a load of digital pics of the room set out for another wedding. It looks pretty
good :)
Katherine also did a bit of ringing around and booked us a taxi to get back from Stanstead
airport when we get back from the Honeymoon. We worked out it would be cheaper to get
Katherine's dad to drive us down there on the Sunday, and to get a taxi back when we return,
than having to pay for long-stay parking (not-so) near the airport.

Another change?
Date: 15-04-03
Had another email from Ryan Air this morning telling us that the flight times have changed
again. Only a five minute change from the previous time change. Does five minutes really
matter?
I managed to speak to the bloke who runs the wedding cars and the woman who organises the
band - basically confirming last minute details and seeing when they want paying. The wedding
car bloke has heard from the police about parking on the day - apparently there's going to be
a traffic warden on standby to look after things on the day. At least that's all sorted as it
could have been a bit of a nightmare dropping people off and picking them up on the day.
Popped over to Confetti as well and
bought something for the blokes, but couldn't get a decent Guest book for you lot to sign
on the day. Have to have a look in other places this weekend.

Alterations
Date: 14-04-03
Katherine took the wedding dress to the alteration shop in St Ives recommended by the dress
shop. Katherine said it was a bit of a weird shop, but she wore the dress, they took the
measurements and said it would be ready to try on again by 1st May. Hmm....cutting it fine,
but fingers crossed. They're sending it straight back to the dress shop so Katherine doesn't
have to go to St. Ives again.
Tried the Order of Service in work and it seemed to print out the way we wanted it to come
out. We must have ticked a scaling-when-printing option or something at home. Had a check
through it and there are some things that need sorting, but they're more layout errors rather
than spelling mistakes.

The size is right?
Date: 13-04-03
Listened to the marathon on Five-live on the way back from Durham this morning and heard
most of Paula Radcliffe's amazing performance. Katherine was just itching to get out there
for a run herself :) We later heard that Penny, one of the bridesmaids, did the marathon in
5 hours and 3 seconds (how gutting is that - being only 4 seconds off a "4 hour something"
time?), which is a personal best for her and the second time she's done London (she's getting
a bit of a veteran with 3 marathons under her belt now!). Go Penny!
When we got back we saw that the stationers had emailed us a new version of the Order of
Service - hopefully in the right size this time. It seemed ok on screen, but seemed to print
out the way it did before. Hmmmm. I'll have to check it at work as the printer we have at
home isn't particularly brilliant.

Email us. Go on! You
know you want to.
