Rings Date: 7-12-02 Popped into the jewelers this morning, to check out wedding rings. Again. The last time we were both there was when we first tried out the wedding rings they had. Katherine had made a decision on which one she wanted relatively quickly. The one I quite fancied (a plain band that matched hers), I found out a week or so later, they couldn't do in the right width, so I popped in to the shop to see what else they had when the girls were shopping for the wedding dress. They gave me a couple of ideas and prices, so I knew roughly what I wanted instead. This time I managed to choose one that suited me, in the right width and thickness, quite quickly, while Katherine dithered over the one she chose last time and one of a slightly different (court) profile. Eventually she plumped for the new choice (which, to be honest, both the woman in the shop and I preferred), and we left it to the shop to find out how much it would be to make both rings in patinum. Obviously I can't remember the model numbers or any other details, but if we go ahead with them (which I'm sure we will), I'll get some pictures up on the web as soon as we get them back. More than likely in the New Year now. Katherine then spent the rest of the afternoon going "Are you sure the ring was ok? Are you sure?" whilst wandering around Cambridge (Christmas shopping. Joy!). I most certainly am.
Parking (2)
Marriage preparation Date: 2-12-02 I still haven't been able to find out who I need to speak to about parking the wedding cars outside the church. The church is right in the middle of town, next to a taxi rank. The road leading up to it is for hire cars, busses and bikes only. That part shouldn't be too bad, but it's where they park while we're in church. All four of them. I've phoned people in the council (one woman blurted out the the number of the registra and put the phone down after she heard the words "getting married", obviously not wanting to hear the whole problem, the second woman on the same number gave me the number of the council officer responsible for a different part of town, who, when I phoned, didn't have a clue how to help me and chuckled at the predicament and wished me luck battling with the taxi drivers in the rank) and got absolutely nowhere. There's a bit of time, but there must be an answer somewhere. I'll speak to the people at church and see what they say. |
