Diary - 24 weeks to go!
Secrecy
Date: 22-11-02
Katherine's being a bit mysterious today. She's taken the digital camera with her and
said that she'll be back after she's been "somewhere" to do "something". Odd. I can
only guess that it's something wedding dress related. Or something along those lines,
anyway. She's been speaking to one of the bridesmaids this week, too, about the wedding
dress. I've got the impression Katherine's being a bit indecisive about part of it or
one of the accessories and is going through one of the many "are you sure?" stages.
Good on her, though, she's managed to resist hinting at what this is all about, probably
to the surprise of the bridesmaids. I'll just have to wait until the day to find out
what this is all about.
Hopefully should be able to get the band and reception contracts out today. I don't think
we're going to be doing any more wedding planning this weekend. There's not that much more
to do at the moment, other than finding somewhere to go for our honeymoon :) But that's
proving to be a bit more difficult than we thought. We're probably being too picky.

Contracts
Date: 18-11-02
We've got a couple of contracts through the post to sign now. One for the band, and one
for the Orchard. Only one thing needs checking out with the Orchard - basically we want
to supply a couple of barrels of beer and the contract says something along the lines of
"only food and drink purchased there may be comsumed on the premisis..." etc etc.
I spoke to them on the phone, and it sounds like it's still ok (we did ask them about it
when we first saw the place), but they're going to charge us an equivalent to corkage to
do it. They're going to email me the amount. I hope it's not too expensive.

More people
Date: 17-11-02
We have a vicar to marry us! WooHoo!
We went to the evening service today, and asked him afterwards. His name is Steve Midgely
and he's been really helpful to us over the last couple of months (since the engagement)
and it means a lot to us for him to do the marriage ceremony.
Had a quick chat with the head of the band, too. We've got to send him an email in the new
year to organise a time to turn up and check out some tunes. We did have some ideas of what
to have, but we don't want it all to be the modern stuff as people might not know the tune.
There's nothing worse than going to a wedding where the congregation whisper through a bunch
of hymns they either don't know or they're too embarrassed to sing - we see enough of
that through ringing the bells at other peoples' weddings. I don't want ours to be the same.

Email us. Go on! You
know you want to.
